PALM DESERT, CA (August 17, 2020) – Kyle Kelly brought the heat at Desert Willow Resort, winning The Stroke Play Classic with a six-under par, 66.
It was a bunched up leaderboard in the blistering desert heat for one of the final events of the 2020 Section Player of the Year point race. 13 players were sub 70, with a five-way tie for second place.
Kelly of Tamarisk Country Club rattled off a blemish free round that included four birdies and an eagle in route to a one stroke victory.
Congratulations to Kerby Pert with Callaway Golf for claiming the lone skin with a birdie on the par three 13thhole.
The SoCal Open followed by the Section Championship, both in September, will conclude the 2020 SCPGA Player of the year point race.
