Golf in Schools

SCPGA | TGA Premier Golf

The SCPGA/TGA Golf Enrichment Program is an innovative and highly popular after school program that brings hands on, introductory golf experiences to juniors throughout Southern California. Our efforts emphasize lower income communities and school districts, where SCPGA/TGA Golf Enrichment Program’s education, fitness and life skills training often have the most profound effect on kids and families. All of SCPGA/TGA Golf Enrichment Program’s instruction and programming are provided by PGA Members, Apprentices and other golf industry professionals. The SCPGA/TGA Golf Enrichment Program emphasizes relatable, interdisciplinary instruction that reinforces classroom learning in vital subjects, including Math, Science, and English.

Neighborhood Golf

Neighbourhood Golf

Neighborhood Golf is a cornerstone in our Player Development efforts. Annually, we bring the opportunity to take complimentary golf lessons from a PGA Professional to Southern Californians attending community and sporting events. Each 15-20 minute golf lesson is taught in a relaxed and comfortable environment by certified golf professionals.

Player Development Best Practices

These Best Practices have proven effective at facilities across the country. Player Development is not only about instruction, it is also very much about exposure and engagement with your customers. The most successful programs integrate both golf instruction and a social component.

If you would like more information about any of the best practices listed below, or if you are looking to get started in creating your own player development program at your facility, do not hesitate to contact your PGA of America Regional League Manager, Junko Suzuki, at or 201-214-2817
