SCPGA Foundation Fall Classic

PACIFIC PALISADES, California — The Riviera Country Club played host on Monday to the Southern California PGA Foundation Fall Classic presented by Thermal Operating Company where George Fisher, John Collister, Don St. Ours, and Curt Basaraba came out on top of the 14 teams playing an 18-hole four-ball format. The event participants helped raised $85,000 for the Southern California Foundation’s ClubsForeYouth® & Grant and Scholarship programs. 

“Our first Fall Classic was a resounding success, as we hosted 14 teams of Foundation supporters at the historical Riviera Country Club. Thanks to the generosity of The Riviera Country Club’s membership and staff, and the Fall Classic participants, we couldn’t have asked for a better day of competition, camaraderie, and raising significant funds for our charitable outreach programs,” said SCPGA Foundation Director Matt Gilson.

The Southern California PGA Foundation’s mission is to provide all those who might benefit, especially youth from all communities, with opportunities to acquire sustainable life skills and values obtained through the game of golf.

“The SCPGA Foundation Fall Classic was a huge success, not only financially for the benefit of our scholarship and ClubsForeYouth® Program, but also for the participants that had the opportunity to enjoy one of the world’s finest golf venues, The Riviera Country Club. Thanks to all of the participants and to PGA General Manager Jim Richerson and PGA Director of Golf Todd Yoshitake and the rest of the Riviera team for their outstanding support of the Fall Classic,” said SCPGA Executive Director/CEO Tom Addis III, PGA.  

“Golf has played such a big part in my life and I was only able to learn and continue playing because others have been so generous to me with their time and talents. We at the Riviera Country Club are so honored to assist the SCPGA Foundation reach their goals of growing the game and helping needy juniors on their journey,” said Riviera Country Club Director of Golf Todd Yoshitake, PGA.
