The Southern California Impacts The City Of Compton
Compton, California (May 30) – On May 30th students from Compton Unified School District experienced a tremendous afternoon at Compton Par 3 Golf Course as they were provided an inaugural complimentary golf clinic with the Southern California PGA (SCPGA). The clinic was conducted on by SCPGA staff members, Eddie Rodarte, PGA, and Kevin Smith, Junior Golf Director, PGA Members, Joe Grohman, and Roman Gonzales, Compton Par 3 Golf Course employees and generous volunteers including Clairemont Councilman Jed Leano! Also in attendance was Compton Councilwoman Janna Zurita.
All 29 students coming from Centennial High School, Compton High School, Dominquez High School, and Early College High School, along with the golf clinic were gifted a brand new Honma golf club, Southern California PGA branded hats, a sleeve of golf balls, and a draw-string bag. This event is the first of its kind for the Southern California PGA in Compton and the Section will continue to help those learn about the game of golf through educational initiatives within the city of Compton.
