The donation will be held at Industry Hills Golf Club on May 22 and marks the largest single club donation to date

Ontario, CA – May 12, 2023 – The Southern California Section of the PGA of America (SCPGA) and the California Chapter of the NFL Alumni Association will host a ClubsForeYouth® Donation Ceremony on Monday, May 22, at Industry Hills Golf Club at 3 p.m.

The donation will benefit four local high schools out of the Valley Vista High School League – San Dimas High School, Charter Oak High School, West Covina High School, and Diamond Ranch High School.

It marks the largest single club donation to date for the SCPGA Foundation, as over 40 sets of Wilson Staff golf clubs will be donated, and the ceremony will take place on the Driving Range located at 1 Industry Hills Pkwy, City of Industry, CA, 91744.

In total, the SCPGA Foundation, along with its partners, have donated over 800 sets of clubs to local high schools in the surrounding areas. A clinic with PGA Professionals will be held post-ceremony.

Recently, the SCPGA and California Chapter of the NFL Association joined forces to collaborate on events and programming designed to educate local communities about the game of golf, the numerous benefits of the game, career opportunities within the industry, and community outreach through youth golf programming. Specifically, the SCPGA’s ClubsForeYouth® program provides new golf equipment to local girls’ and boys’ high school golf teams.

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with the NFL Alumni Association of Southern California,” said Nikki Gatch, PGA, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Southern California PGA. “Leveraging the power of our two brands to bring awareness, education, and opportunities around the game of golf within our Southern California communities, is an incredible opportunity and will undoubtedly create a great buzz around the game of golf.”

“It’s a great opportunity to have a collaborative partnership with the Southern California PGA and ClubsForeYouth® program, assisting with their mission to expand the game of golf in local communities around the region through educational resources and insight into the golf industry as a whole. We look forward to having a positive impact with the youth in these communities.” Walter Thurmond III; VP, NFL Alumni Association – Southern California and Super Bowl Champion (XLVIII, Seattle Seahawks).

President of the NFL Alumni Association of Southern California and Super Bowl XXVII and XXVIII Champion adds, “As the President of the NFL Alumni Association – Southern California, I’m excited to work with the Southern California PGA to make a difference in young people’s lives. This is only the beginning of how we plan to work together to make a change in our local communities. Stay tuned for big things with the SCPGA and the NFL Alumni of Southern California. It’s not how you start; it’s how you finish!”

Both Super Bowl Champions James Washington and Walter Thurmond will be in attendance.
