SCPGA Foundation Tournament Raises Funds For Grants & Scholarships

"The Invitational Pro-Am"

BORREGO SPRINGS, CA (November 9th, 2020) – Team Newport Beach Country Club are the champions at the SCPGA Foundation’s inaugural “The Invitational Pro-Am” presented by Carlsbad Golf Center.

12 teams competed at Rams Hill Golf Club in an 18-hole best-ball format for the benefit of the Southern California PGA Foundation’s Grants, Scholarships, and ClubsForeYouth® programs. Teams consisted of a Professional and three amateurs.

“We are truly appreciative of the outstanding support shown from everyone who made the Inaugural Invitational Pro-Am a success! As we look to continue this event year after year, we hope to grow the event and to continue to make an impact with our philathropic efforts” said SCPGA Foundation Director Matt Gilson.

The field consisted of several notable participants including SCPGA Junior Tour alums Mo Martin, 2014 Women’s British Open Winner, and Haley Moore, LPGA player.

Team Newport Beach was led by PGA Professional Adam Baumann along with his teammates Brandon Dederich, Brian Thomas, and Chris Jones. Team Newport Beach finished the charity tournament with a 13-under par score. Congratulations to Chris Jones for his stellar round of nine-under par 63 which featured three eagles.

Low Professional honors for the day went to Chris Gilley of La Quinta Country Club with a three-under par 69.
