(BEAUMONT, CA – August 31, 2020) Gunner Wiebe defends his title and is the 2020 National Car Rental Southern California Assistant PGA Professional Champion after going the distance with a ten-under par, 134!

Featuring the largest field ever, 95 players competed in the 36-hole championship hosted in Beaumont at Oak Valley Golf Club. Round one leader, Kyle Mendoza, PGA, of The Farms Golf Club posted an opening round of seven-under, 65, to lead the morning wave.

Wiebe, of Bel-Air Country Club found himself three shots off the lead after opening with a round one with a steady four-under, 68. Turing up the heat in the afternoon, Wiebe rattled seven birdies for a second round of six-under, 66, three shots clear of the filed.

“Today was really great, not having played for a while because of COVID, it feels really good to compete again, and to get this win,” said Wiebe after hoisting the perpetual trophy.
