PACIFIC PALISADES, California – The 5th Annual Foundation Classic at the historic Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades raised $100,000 to directly aid the Southern California PGA Foundation’s college scholarships, grants, and ClubsForeYouth® programs.

The benefit tournament brought together 105 participants from some of the most prestigious and distinguished golf clubs across the country. Playing in a Stableford format, each team featured one PGA Professional and four members from their respective facilities. The field was treated to pristine course conditions one week following the PGA TOUR’s Genesis Invitational.

The team from The Olympic Club emerged victorious with a score of 118. The Olympic Club team lead by PGA Professional Chris Stein included amateurs Frank Azar, Mike Hinkel, Brian Ziolkowski, and Dennis Haysbert. Darrell Kestner, of Deepdale Golf Club in New York, walked away with the individual professional prize for the day.

Teams participating included Atlantic Golf Club, Bakersfield Country Club, Bandon Dunes Golf Club, Bayonne Golf Club, Butler National Golf Club, Cypress Point Club, Dallas National Golf Club, Deepdale Golf Club, Medinah Country Club, Oakmont Country Club, San Francisco Golf Club, The Los Angeles Country Club, The Olympic Club, The Preserve Golf Club, The Riviera Country Club, The Valley Club, The Vaquero Club, Whispering Pines Golf Club, and Winged Foot Golf Club.

To honor Kobe Bryant on the very day of his Memorial, The Riviera Country Club announced that they will be making a $20,000 donation to the MambaOnThree Fund. The fund was started by Vanessa Bryant to assist the families of the victims that tragically lost their lives on January 26th, 2020. Each player received a one-of-a-kind golf cap designed by the owner of Straight Down, Mike Rowley. The cap was inscribed with the numbers 2 and 24 in remembrance of Gianna and Kobe Bryant.
