Yoon Goes Wire-To-Wire to Claim 2026 SoCal Open Championship

April 27-29 | Indian Wells Golf Resort

INDIAN WELLS, CA – Andy Yoon, of Cerritos, CA, goes wire-to-wire at the 2026 Southern California Open Championship to claim his first professional win after posting rounds of 63-70-66 for a 199, 14-under-par, total.

Battling firm, fast conditions on the newly renovated Players Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort, but Yoon took command over the 168-player field right out the gate. After opening with a tournament-low 63, he entered the second round in the driver’s seat. Yoon then showcased his touch in round two with a steady one-under-par 70 in windy conditions, coasting into the final round with a commanding four-shot lead.

Entering the final round, Yoon forced the field to chase him down the stretch to no avail, ultimately coasting to a five-stroke victory. After his win, Yoon said, “It feels great to get my first professional win out here in the SoCal Open. I made some key saves today on hole 6 for a bogey and again on holes 14 & 15 for pars to keep my lead going down the stretch.”

With this victory, Yoon, a SCPGA Jr. Tour Alumni, adds his name to the storied history of past champions at the SoCal Open with names such as Billy Casper (68′), Gene Littler (64′), Al Geiberger (62′), Ken Venturi (61′), and Olin Dutra (32′).

“I feel super proud of this win, all the grinding is paying off, and I can’t wait to come back to this tournament next year,” said Yoon. Taking home a first-place check, Yoon walks away with $10,000 for three days’ work in the desert.

Low Amateur honors go to Connor Herrera, of Encinitas, CA, with a solo third-place finish at -8 under par after rounds of 72-66-67 for a three-day total of 205.
