Garrett Sapp, PGA, Goes Back-To-Back!
2026 SCPGA Assistant ChampionSAN DIEGO, CA – (August 10th, 2026) Garrett Sapp, PGA, of San Gabriel Country Club defended his Southern California Assistant PGA Professional Championship title at The Heights Golf Club after Sapp fired an impressive eight-under-par, 69-65=134 in the 36-hole stroke play event at The Heights Golf Club.
46 Assistant Professionals congregated in San Diego, hoping to earn a spot in the top four to earn an exemption into the 50th PGA Assistant Professional Championship.
After his victory, Sapp said, “I told myself early on that this would be a long day, and I wasn’t watching the leaderboard, but had a feeling I was getting close towards the end of the day. It’s exciting to get this win and get back to Florida to play against all the top players from across the country, and my fellow SCPGA members.”
The following four players will be joining Sapp at the PGA Assistant Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, November 12-15, 2026.

In the APA Championship, 54 players arrived ready to battle for the title of APA Champion. It was Sebastian Vallejo, of Virginia Country Club, who emerged victorious after posting nine-under-par, with rounds of 68-65=133.
