Isaac Rodea is the 2026 California State Open Champion

June 22-25, 2026 | Bear Creek Golf Club

MURRIETA, CA (June 22-25, 2026) — Isaac Rodea of Temecula claims the 126th California State Open Championship after shooting a 17-under-par, 271 total, across four days of competition at Bear Creek Golf Club.

Rodea is certainly no stranger to success at Bear Creek, having finished just a single stroke off the lead in the previous year’s Championship. He capitalized on his deep familiarity with the course this year to break through and claim his first professional win. Fully exploiting excellent scoring conditions this year, marked by gentle breezes and mild temperatures, Rodea posted scores of 69-70-64-68 to win by three shots over the field.

When asked about his victory, Rodea said, “It feels really good to get my first professional win in this Championship here at Bear Creek. All the hours I have put into this game have finally paid off, and to get redemption in this event after coming so close last year means the world to me.”

Low amateur honors went to Hudson Vedder of Laguna Niguel after posting a 14-under-par, 274 total for the tournament, including the tournament low round of 10-under-par, 62, during round three.

The California State Open is a historic 72-hole event that serves as the oldest professional golf championship in the state. First played in 1900 and won by U.S. Open Champion Willie Smith, the tournament boasted a rich legacy with an illustrious roster of past winners including the legendary Walter Hagen (1915), Horton Smith (1934), Gene Littler (1954), Jerry Barber (1959), Roger Maltbie (1974), Dennis Paulson (1990 & ’96), Kirk Triplett (1991), and Jason Gore (1997 & 2004).
