FINAL ROUND RECAP
PALM DESERT, CA (December 19, 2025) — Kaili Xiao, a University of Southern California commit from Chino Hills, is the 2025 Women’s California State Open Champion presented by Toyota with a 7-under-par 70-68-71=209. Xiao claimed the championship title and the low amateur title with her play.

In the Senior Division, Shelly Stouffer of Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, claimed this year’s title and low amateur honors with a 1-over-par 69-74-74=217. Stouffer becomes the second player to win the Senior Division, as Pat Hurst won the inaugural title in 2024.
Xiao entered the day with a one-shot lead after an impressive 4-under-par 68 during the second round that jumped her up the leaderboard into the top spot. Xiao held onto that top spot for most of the day, taking a two-shot lead into the back nine. Madison Murr, who played at Cal State San Marcos, made things interesting for Xiao down the stretch, though, making birdies on 10, 11, and 15 to sit only one shot back from Xiao on the 17 tee box. Both players would make bogeys on the par-3 17, but Xaio bounced back on 18, hitting an incredible approach shot to secure a two-putt for the victory.
