Rhett Rasmussen Claims 60th Edition of SoCal Open Championship

INDIO, CA – Rhett Rasmussen of Draper, Utah, won the 60th edition of the Southern California Open Championship, finishing the 54-hole Championship at 16-under-par at The Golf Club at Terra Lago – North Course.
Rasmussen posted a 64-67 (-13) after the first two days and held a two-shot lead entering Wednesday’s final round. Rasmussen kept his foot on the gas during the final round, recording a 3-under-par 69 to take home the championship by four shots over the 155-player field and a $7,800 check.
Shaojun Luo of Diamond Bar finished his three days with a 69-70-769=208 for an 8-under-par to take home the Low Amateur honors and finish T-4th. Luo recorded all three rounds with sub-par rounds.
The SoCal Open has a storied history of past champions such as Billy Casper (68′), Gene Littler (64′), Al Geiberger (62′), Ken Venturi (61′), Olin Dutra (32′), and now Rhett Rasmussen has etched his name into the Championship’s legacy.
