Cavin McCall Wins The 2024 SCPGA Match Play Championship

Congratulations to Cavin McCall, PGA, on winning the SCPGA Match Play Championship at Brentwood Country Club

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 12, 2024) — Congratulations to Cavin McCall, PGA, of The Santaluz Club, on recording his first major championship of the season, taking home the trophy for the Southern California PGA Match Play Championship at Brentwood Country Club.

In the semi-finals, McCall earned his way into the finals after taking down Mark Geddes, PGA, of Coronado Golf Course 1UP. Logan Scott, PGA, of Oakmont Country Club, emerged from the semi-finals to meet McCall after winning his match 3 and 2 over Steve Holmes, PGA, of Rustic Canyon Golf Course.

McCall would find himself down one through the front nine but was able to rally back to take down Scott 3 and 2 to secure the championship.

With today’s win, McCall earns an exemption into the PGA TOUR’s World Wide Technology Championship in Cabo San Lucas on November 4-10, 2024.

As the SCPGA celebrates its 100-year anniversary, today also marks a historic day for the SCPGA and Brentwood Country Club. Brentwood CC was one of 25 charter clubs in 1924 that officially signed the Section charter, laying the cornerstone for a century of golfing excellence.

A big thank you to James Rocco, PGA, the Director of Golf at Brentwood Country Club, for hosting this event and the Brentwood Country Club members for allowing us to conduct the championship match on the course today.
