October 17, 2024 | Enagic Golf Club at EastlakeCHULA VISTA, CA (October 17, 2024) – David Longmire of Laguna Niguel, California, won the Enagic San Diego County Open after an incredible final round, moving up four spots to take the championship with a 14-under-par 199 (66-69-64).
Longmire quickly rose to the top of the leaderboard after a bogey-free 5-under-par front nine score to flip the leaderboard and take a two-shot lead with nine to play. His hot play continued on the back with an immediate birdie on #10. After a bogey on #13, he responded on the next hole with a birdie and closed out the round, sticking his par-3 approach on 17 to a foot for a tap-in birdie.
He finished the day with a tournament-low 7-under-par 64 on the day to edge the 132-player field by three shots.
“What an awesome week – I first have to give a shoutout to my caddy Jake,” said Longmire. “Our goal this week was to play aggressive and play fearless. We just tried to keep the pedal to the metal and do the best we could. We couldn’t be happier with how we came through today on the final round.”
Longmire, a SoCal native, took home the $10,000 champion’s check and a Kangen Water Iconic Filtration System by Enagic.
Nik Neal, a local from San Diego, strung together three days of 3-under-par to finish T-20 and claimed Low Amateur honors.
