Michael Block Wins The 2023 SCPGA Match Play Championship
Congratulations to Michael Block, PGA, on winning the SCPGA Match Play Championship at Wilshire Country Club
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 26, 2023) — Congratulations to Michael Block, PGA, of Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club, on securing his second major championship of the season, taking home the trophy for the Southern California Match Play Championship at Wilshire Country Club.
The hot streak continues for Block, as he won both his matches in the semi-final round and final round in extra holes. He beat Kenny Pigman in the semifinals on the 19th hole and secured the championship in a playoff against Vinnie Poncino.
With the win today, Block earns an exemption into the PGA TOUR’S World Wide Technology Championship in Cabo San Lucas on Nov. 2-5.
Just a week ago, Block went back-to-back to win the SCPGA Section Championship at Sherwood Country Club, where he earned an exemption into The American Express on the PGA TOUR.
