Smock and Geddes Capture the 2023 Senior-Junior Championship

VISTA, CA (April 3, 2023) — Brian Smock, PGA, of Coronado Golf Course, and Mark Geddes, PGA, of Coronado Golf Course, claimed the 2023 Senior-Junior Championship at Valley Vista Country Club in dramatic fashion.
With two teams tied at the top of the leaderboard at 7-under par, Smock/Geddes met Nakamura/Puterbaugh on hole #18 for the first playoff hole. After three birdie attempts narrowly missed, Smock cleaned up his eagle attempt with a solid birdie to capture the championship.
There were a total of four skins recorded on the day – Michael Jack, PGA, and Chris Lungo, PGA, eagled on hole #1 – Sean Anthony, PGA, and Jonny Strang, had a birdie on hole #5 – John Walker, PGA, and Houston Knox recorded a hole-in-one on hole #8 – and Mike Fergin, PGA, and Kenny Pigman, PGA, recorded an eagle on hole #17.
Congratulations to our two closest-to-the-hole winners – Paul Bucy, PGA, who won the seniors only on hole #3 (3’9″), and to Matt Neman, PGA, for winning the juniors only on hole #12 (6’6″).
A big congratulations to John Walker, PGA, for his ace on hole #8 playing at 156 yards and will be emptying the Hole-In-One Pool of $454.
