SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (July 10th, 2023) Harris/Hopson and Fergin/Fergin take home the top honors at the 2023 Professional-Junior Championship hosted at San Juan Hills Golf Club!
50 teams arrived in San Juan Capistrano to compete in the annual event that pairs a junior under the age of 18 with a PGA Professional member. Playing in a Four-Ball format, this event is a great opportunity for PGA Members to share the course with a junior golfer. Juniors get an inside look at the career path that a PGA Member makes while making for a memorable day on the course.
In the Boys Division, Brandon Harris and Kam Hopson from Redlands Country Club finished at the top of the pack of talented teams with a -7 under par 64.
In the Girls Division, Mike Fergin, PGA, and Stella Fergin emerged victorious in a playoff over Janella Sua, PGA, and Sophia Fujita of Rolling Hills Country Club after matching -6 under par, 65’s.
Congratulations to Anthony Estes, PGA, of Rolling Hills Country Club for capturing the lone skin on hole #12 with an Eagle!
Much appreciation to our Section partner Titleist for supporting the event, providing each junior participant with a tee gift, and the overall winning teams in each division with Titleist backpacks.
