2023 National Car Rental SoCal Assistant PGA Championship
South Hills Country Club - August 7thWEST COVINA, CA – (Monday, August 7th, 2023) Trevor Cassidy of El Caballero Country Club is the 2023 National Car Rental Southern California Assistant PGA Professional Champion after shooting a nine under par, 135 in the 36-hole stroke play event.
36 Assistant Professionals congregated at South Hills Country Club in West Covina hoping to earn a spot into the top five to earn an exemption into the 47th PGA Assistant National Championship.
Firing off a bogey-free second round of 64, Cassidy will take home his first Assistant Championship title and said, “I feel Eladted right now! I want to thank El Caballero Country Club for giving me a place to play, practice and earn a living. I have been there for a little over eight years now and it’s an absolute joy to represent the club with this victory today!”
The following four players will be joining Cassidy at the 48th PGA Assistant National Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, November 16th-19th.

Congratulations to Garrett Sapp of San Gabriel Country Club for going the distance in the 2023 APA Championship at South Hills Country Club with his playoff victory!
36-holes of regulation ended in a three-way playoff with Raj Samara of Wilshire Country Club, Blake Schmitt of Ironwood Country Club and Sapp who all finished at 7-under par, 137. Sapp would win on the 5th playoff hole with a par to take the title of 2023 APA Champion.
