Congratulations to Team Oakmont Country Club on Winning the Callaway Golf Challenge

LA HABRA HEIGHTS, CA — Congratulations to Logan Scott, PGA, Aaron Mcguinness, Jesse Arian, and Flavio Castro of team Oakmont Country Club for winning the first annual Callaway Golf Challenge at Hacienda Golf Club with a final score of 17-under-par 125 in a card-off.
The four-person team of Oakmont Country Club narrowly edged out North Ranch Country Club, who matched them at 17-under-par, but Oakmont CC was able to capture the victory in a card-off. Oakmont caught fire on the back nine with a 12-under-par score to combine with their 5-under-par front nine scores for the 17-under total.
The format for today’s event was Four-Ball, with one gross and one net, as the Professional ball could be used for the team score.
Low PGA Professional honors went to Kyle Mendoza, PGA, of Hacienda Golf Club, with his round of 64. Congratulations to our closest-to-the-hole winners –the two amateurs, Chris Smith and JR Walz, and our two professionals, Tony Lanza, and Scott Miller.
Thank you to our presenting sponsor, Callaway Golf, for putting on the event, and giving each amateur participant a custom Callaway wedge and a dozen Chrome Soft Truvis golf balls.
Thank you to Chief Club Designer for Callaway, Roger Cleveland, for putting on a special wedge clinic before the round got underway, to Dogleg Brewing Co. for providing drinks for all the participants throughout the day, and to Keurig DrPepper for providing waters on the course to all the players.
