Gary Sowinski, PGA, Wins Fifth Southern California Super Senior PGA Championship

October 26-27, 2022 | Red Hill Country Club

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (October 27, 2022) — Gary Sowinski, PGA, of The Hodges Golf Learning Center went wire-to-wire at the 2022 Southern California Super Senior PGA Championship to take home the trophy with a one-over-par 145 at Red Hill Country Club.

The win for Sowinski marks his fifth time holding the Southern California Super Senior PGA Championship trophy. It wasn’t all smooth sailing during the final round, as Sowinski watched playing partner Paul Wise, PGA, fire a two-under-par 70 to dissolve the five-stroke lead down to one, but a bogey on 18 ended any thought of a possible playoff.

Wise ended the Championship in second with a two-over-par 146 and was the only player in the field to record an under-par round on the final day.

A special thank you to the members of Red Hill Country Club, along with General Manager Gene Miller and Director of Golf Chris Frame, for hosting the Championship.

A final thank you to Rules Committee Chairman Ron O’Connor, PGA, for volunteering his time and expertise along with the PGA TOUR for supporting the professional purse.
