Dr. Alison Curdt Wins The 2020 SCPGA Women's Section Championship!

LA QUINTA, CA – Dr. Alison Curdt, PGA, claims her third Southern California PGA Women’s Section Champion title by single shot at the Hideaway Golf Club!
This marks the ninth playing of this 36-hole championship, which saw a field of 21 PGA Professionals competing across two days on the Pete-Dye course.
Dr. Curdt, of Wood Ranch Golf Club, took a two-shot lead after opening round one with a two-under, 70. Playing in the final pairing along side defending champion, Lehua Wise, PGA, of the Hideaway Golf Club, it was a battle down the stretch with both players birding the 16th. A bogey from Curdt on the 17thput Wise one shot off heading into the 36thhole of regulation.
With both players matching pars on the final hole, Dr. Curdt who would walk away with her third championship title. Wise finished in solo second place, one shot off the lead with rounds of 73 & 73 for a one-over par, 152 total.
“It feels great to be back in the winner’s circle at the Women’s Section Championship, this year has been really competitive and it’s nice to get a win,” said Dr. Curdt.
Next up for Dr. Curdt will be the 2020 Women’s KPMG Championship in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania,at Aronimink Golf Club on October 8th-11th. “This is a great momentum builder for me heading into the KPMG in a few weeks and I’m excited for that event.”
“This event is such a special event for the Women’s Section, and I’m really proud to be a member of the SCPGA Section and to know we have this pinnacle of the tournament calendar,” said Curdt.
In addition to the winning the year-end championship, Curdt takes home the 2020 SCPGA Women’s Division Player of the Year honors with 273.75 points across six events.
Congratulations to Bari Brandwynne, PGA, of The Los Angeles Country Club for claiming the Senior Flight title three-strokes clear of the field with rounds of 76 & 75 for a two-day total of, +7, 151. Brandwynne also picked up the first round closest to the hole contest with a hole #17, 10’7″, she will be taking home a brand new GolfBuddy range finder!
Mardell Wilkins, PGA, of Tijeras Creek Golf Club, took home the Senior Player of the Year title with a third place finish in the section championship.
