Heyn & Mendoza Take It Eighteen Under To Claim The Title!

Mission Hills Country Club | October 5-6, 2020

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA – PGA Professionals Scott Heyn and Kyle Mendoza edged out Professionals Brian Smock and Mark Geddes in a card-off to claim the Professional-Assistant Championship. The Championship returned to the Coachella Valley for an action-packed two days at Mission Hills Country Club where nearly 50 facilities were represented.

Heyn and Mendoza, from The Farms Golf Club, dominated the Four-Ball format with a two-day total 18-under par 126. The duo played their opening round on the Pete Dye Course and fired a 65, two-shots off the day one lead. They outdid themselves on the final round, however, with an impressive 61 on the challenging Dinah Shore Course highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 18th.

Coronado Golf Course’s team of Smock and Geddes matched Mendoza and Heyn’s two-day total but ultimately it was not enough to secure the Champion’s trophy. The card-off went to their back-nine total on the Dinah Shore Course where Heyn/Mendoza fired a 29 to Smock/Geddes’s 31.
