RIVERSIDE COUNTY – Once again, the SCPGA’s ClubsForeYouth™ program packed the car full of brand new Wilson Golf clubs and hit the road. This time, heading to visit two high schools in the Palm Springs area. Rancho Mirage and Desert Springs High Schools were this trips lucky recipients of the donations. As showcased across our social media platforms, the kids were all smiles when receiving their new clubs!
PGA Member, David Curtis, who serves as the Rancho Mirage High School golf coach said, “It is a very special feeling as a coach to see the smiles on these players faces as they receive this ClubsForeYouth™ donation. This is an amazing opportunity provided to these students and I’m very thankful to the SCPGA Foundation for making this all happen!”
The program has been instrumental in developing the interest in the game of golf though these donations. Desert Hot Springs golf coach, Bob Jensen said, “It is amazing to have the kids get a better feeling for the game with these new clubs, because before this they would be forced to play with old mis-matched clubs, which made it tough for them to get involved in the game.” In the coming weeks, the SCPGA Foundation will continue to impact more youth athletes though this program!
A special thanks to the Friends of Golf, DevTo Support Foundation, American Junior Golf Association, Wilshire Country Club, The Donald and Carole Chaiken Foundation, Wadsworth Golf Charities Foundation, the LA84 Foundation, and Wilson Staff, for affording us the opportunity to impact hundreds of youth throughout Southern California.
