LOS ALTOS, POMONA, & FULLERTON, CA – The SCPGA Foundation continued is giving spree in the last week of August, donating brand new Wilson Golf clubs to Los Altos, Pomona Catholic, and Fullerton High Schools as part of the “ClubsForeYouth” initiative. On the same morning as the much hyped partial solar eclipse, the SCPGA Foundation loaded up six sets of Wilson Golf clubs paid visit to the girls golf team at Los Altos High. Located in Los Altos, the six lucky students fascination with the celestial phenomenon overhead was eclipsed by the excitement provided upon receiving their new clubs! In attendance to witness the donation was girls head golf coach, Hal Evans, “It’s really exciting to see the girls have their own clubs instead of having to borrow outdated sets. I appreciate the support of the LA84 Foundation, especially supporting girls golf in particular because a lot of them don’t have the resources to get into the game, and now with this donation the girls will have a wonderful opportunity to grow.” The Los Altos High students were also grateful of the support, their responces are listed below.
Celeste Gutierrez – “I think it’s pretty exciting to receive these clubs because I’ve never owned my own set before. I’m looking forward to being able to use the driving range whenever I want now, and playing on the weekends will be fun!”
Valeria Serrano – “I am very grateful to be receiving these new clubs, it makes me happy that these organizations sponsored an amazing program. The set of clubs I had were very old and beat up, so now that I have this set, I look forward to practicing on a consistent basis.”
