Ontario, California – Mission Viejo, CA resident Michael Block, PGA will have the honors of hitting the opening tee shot, kicking off the competition at the 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in his hometown of St. Louis, MO this Thursday, August 9th, through Sunday, August 12th. TNT will broadcast the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday and CBS will cover Saturday and Sunday’s final round.
Block of Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club and Brian Smock, PGA of Coronado Golf Course will represent the Southern California PGA and are two of the twenty PGA Club Professionals in the Championship field. The duo finished within the top twenty at the 51st PGA Professional Championship, contested June 17-21, 2018, on the Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Courses in Seaside, CA, that qualified them for competition.
Block and Smock join an impressive field which includes Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Masters Champ Patrick Reed, U.S. Open Champ Brooks Koepka, Open Champion Francisco Molinari and many more PGA Professionals competing for the title.
