E-Z-GO Summer Meeting & Pro-Pro Scramble
PGA WEST – Palmer Private Course

Sheehan & Starkjohann Nearly Perfect!
The E-Z-GO Summer Meeting and Pro-Pro Scramble attracted another full field for the annual event. The 144 PGA Members and Apprentices teamed up and took to the PGA WEST Palmer Private Course for this year’s tournament following the Summer Meeting. Not only did the players get treated to PGA WEST, but PGA WEST at its best! Immaculate course conditions, good weather and the unbeatable views of the PGA WEST Palmer Private were part of a nearly perfect day.
On the course, there were a few teams gunning for an even more perfect day. Some would argue that a score of 54 on a par 72 golf course is the “perfect round”, and one team nearly staked claim of that elusive number! In the end, four teams broke the 60 barrier! Not many would imagine that the teams of Nathaniel Williams (The Plantation Golf Club) & John Shelden, PGA (Mountain View Country Club) and Ron Skayhan, PGA (Hillcrest Country Club) & Mike Mitchell, PGA (Hideaway Golf Club) would finish two strokes back of first with rounds of 58 (-14). However, when the team of Butch Sheehan, PGA (First Tee of Coachella) and Chris Starkjohann, PGA (Torrey Pines Gold Club & Outings) posted their round containing 14 birdies, an eagle and only three pars, the resulting 56 (-16) would be good enough for a two stroke victory.
Our sincerest thanks to our invaluable sponsors and partners who participated in and supported this event including; E-Z-GO, US Foods, First Tee Travel & Promotions and Tourism Australia, SCNS Sports Foods, Global Tour Golf, SNAG, Flightscope, Golf Buddy, Kenwood, Atlas Van Lines, Pepsi and Sun SafeTee. We also can’t thank the PGA WEST staff enough for their hospitality and attention to detail thanks to PGA General Manager Todd Keefer and his entire PGA Professional staff as well as the outstanding food and beverage staff.
