Wilcox spent his entire career in the golf industry beginning immediately after graduating Oklahoma State University in 1962. His career started as a cart attendant for Ernie Vossler at Quail Creek Country Club. Wilcox became a PGA Member in 1967 and is now a Life Member. He competed on the PGA TOUR from 1962 to 1973 while holding positions at clubs in New York and North Carolina. Some of his tournament highlights include: 1968 New York Metropolitan PGA Section Champion, 1966 and 1968 Westchester Open Champion, 1980 Carolina PGA Section Champion, numerous top ten finishes on the PGA TOUR, and participated in four PGA Championships, five USGA Open Championships, and two Master’s Tournaments. Wilcox has also had an extensive career at the following clubs: Apawamis Club, Siwanoy Country Club, Cardinal Golf Club, Mission Hills Country Club, and most recently at VP Landmark Land Co of California, and Tournament Director of Kraft Nabisco Championship. Wilcox has received the following awards: 1974 and 1980 Carolina PGA Section for Player of the Year and 1979 Merchandiser of the Year. Wilcox and his wife, Shirley, have been married 53 years and have lived in Rancho Mirage for the past 35 years. They have two sons, Tony and Tim, six granddaughters and one grandson.
