San Diego, California – The Southern California PGA along with Travis Mathew and the Fairmont Grand Del Mar Resort and Golf Club in San Diego, CA presented the California Teaching and Coaching Summit on Monday, October 22ndand Tuesday the 23rd, 2018. Over 225 PGA and LPGA professionals from all over the West Coast came together for two-days of world-class golf instruction and interactive demonstrations.
The Summit’s speakers included premier golf instructor, Hank Haney; Golf Digest top rated instructor, Mike Bender; Dr. Greg Rose and David Phillips with the Titleist Performance Institute; PGA Tour Instructor, Scott Hamilton; PGA Tour Player and Record holder, Stan Utley and The Grand Golf Club’s putting expert, Derek Uyeda, PGA.
In addition to these notable names, the biggest surprise of the event was special guest Phil Mickelson of the PGA Tour as a speaker on Monday morning. Attendees were able to enjoy a candid conversation with the champion as well as insight into his successful career on the PGA Tour. Mickelson is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame and multi-Major and Masters champion with 49 professional wins in total.

The goal for the summit each year is to bring together the PGA and LPGA professionals from the Western Region to learn about the latest teaching techniques through coaching strategies, the latest technology innovations and the opportunity to network with fellow teaching and coaching professionals.
Randy Chang, PGA and The Journey at Pechanga in Temecula, California, will play host to the 3rd California Teaching and Coaching Summit October 21st and 22nd, 2019.
