Tasha Browner Bohlig on the importance of foregoing sign-ups for beginners:
Here at El Caballero Country Club, I’ve begun to offer women’s clinics without prior sign-up or registration. I’ve done this because it establishes a more relaxed atmosphere as opposed to registering, signing up and the overwhelming pressure of being associated with a clinic. I post information in the women’s locker room monthly and it has been very successful. Not only do we focus on the essentials (putting, chipping, pitching, and full swing) but we also cover everything from bag drop procedures, to where and how to operate a golf car, to etiquette and Rules, to uneven lies and even fairways bunkers. The women love the program and have become active golfers all while forging new friendships and relationships.
Tasha Browner Bohlig on the business impact of foregoing sign-ups for beginners:
I offer the clinic every Wednesday from 9-10 a.m. We average anywhere from eight to 20 women per clinic. Being in California, this opportunity runs nearly 12 months out of the year. We charge the women $10 each Wednesday, which drives anywhere from $320-$800 per month in revenue. Additionally, 100 percent of the women have continued their golf education with me in private lessons. By advertising the clinic as an informal, no-registration-needed platform, we eliminate fear and capture more students of the game. Finally, I’ve began to stay connected by using Edufi which allows all of the women to learn, grow, stay connected and become better golfers!
